CSIRP Board Meeting Wednesday July 10, 2002 at 8 PM EDT Barry Rueger (Caledonia, Ontario);Victoria Fenner (Caledonia, Ontario); Douglas Samuel (Ottawa, Ontario); Chris Brooks (St Johns, Newfoundland), Hal Doran (Ottawa, Ontario) Regrets: Dave Kattenburg (Brandon, Manitoba); Andy Posthumus (Edmonton, Alberta), Heather Majoury (Killaloe, Ontario) Meeting started at 8:20 PM EST AGENDA 1) Additions to Agenda 2) Approval of Agenda 3) Approval of Previous Minutes 4) Treasurer's Report and Financial Statement - a)"Money we want more of it!" The current bank balance is: $50,000 in ING and $10,000 in the bank account b) Audit Update - Is almost compete but for a few details c) Contracts - The spirit of it is good, but nit picky comments can be e-mailed to Hal within two weeks. d) On-line Commerce - Barry will call Magma within two weeks to sort out. e) Invoices for Wavelength - Seems to be working. Victoria will check on Dave. f) Fee changes for non-Canadians - all are now payable in US dollars. Everyone must buy a beer for the Treasurer. 5) Liability insurance for board members - Doug and Hal are following up to get a quote. 6) Membership Report - Current status 63 paid up members. Mailing of cards has elicited four responses only so far. Reminders to recently expired members will go out prior to AGM. 7) Newsletter Report - Barry assumes that it went out and is fine. Ours is probably lost in Canada Post. Next will be the Fall Issue after the AGM. 8) Editorial Board - For Wavelength. Maybe Janna, Chris, Barry? Also we will ask the CSIRP list for volunteers. 9) Current Projects a) Heritage Sustainability - postponed until October deadline to allow more work with Heritage. They will meet with Victoria next month. b) Full Moon - sold out, Au Grand Bois looks wonderful see http://www.radiosite.ca/agb.html. For next year John Muir and Janna have scouted an equally lovely location in New Brunswick. c) Radiant Dissonance - Hal has received a couple of submissions. Deadline is mid month. Jury will meet at FMOQ. d) New workshop ideas - Still in the works. Douglas will continue to work on it after the audit - probably over the upcoming month. e) Western workshops - in response to requests on the CAJ list, we are looking at doing a workshop or two in Alberta or BC. Victoria and Barry will take it the next step. e) Trillium workshops - Next Year is coming together well, with workshops in London, Peterborough, and London. 9) Website Development - this work by Victoria was delayed during the move back to Canada. Victoria will follow up over the next two months. 10) Pamphlet and Website Info - A progress report will arrive from Heather in the next week or two 11) Annual Board meeting - Saturday August 24th - John Muir's Cottage 10 AM. Able to attend will be Hal, Victoria, Doug, Barry, Heather. Agenda will be coordinated by Hal. Hal will coordinate discussions by e-mail. Afternoon session will develop instruction for incoming Board. 12) Annual General Meeting - Arts Court, Ottawa, Sunday August 25th 5:00pm.
