Call to Order - The meeting was called to order by Barry at 8 PM Ontario Time, 7 PM Manitoba Time. 2. Agenda - The Agenda was developed as we proceeded. 3. Corporate Status - Bill is pushing Industry Canada for approval of our bylaws. They're sitting on it for some reason. This is critical because of the many funding applications pending. 4. Financial Statement: "Shylock was misunderstood" (Andy) There is still about $662.29 in the CSIRP Bank Account. New member - David Carroll of CJRT Toronto. 5. Funding Opportunities - a) Trillium Foundation in Ontario has $100 million. Hal, Barry, & Victoria attended one of their meetings. We had already talked of a series of workshops around the province. Hal and Victoria will develop the application and welcome lots of input. Since this would be Province wide it would need 3-4 months for approval. b) Voluntary Action Online - again, an Ontario program to help volunteer organizations in Internet stuff. Word is no more funding until a year from now. Next deadline will be early December. Since this is Ministry of Citizenship they want nice non-political voluntary organizations. They also like private sector partners. John H provided much background. Victoria suggest a meeting in P'boro to discuss much of this further. c) Canada Council has just announced a new spoken word program that specifically mentions radio. 6. Website - Thanks to John Hall. John M. asks how much time can be devoted to maintaining it. John Hall can pitch in 4 hours a week. Barry will continue to maintain the CRTC pages and station links. Bios are lovely. Funding stuff should be members only, as should minutes etc. This should showcase our work. The site should showcase radio and promote us. Hal feels that recruitment is vital. First page should define who we are and why radio is important. Sound files - RealAudio can be done at web right now. MPEG is new to them, but they're catching up. Many projects are in the works which could culminate is capital resources for this stuff. Dave suggests a small working group to continue. 7. Newsletter - Next one for May and the NCRA conference. Mark Hornblower will be asked to contribute design. We have almost run out of newsletters! Next meeting will happen telephonically on March 3, 1999 7PM Manitoba time.
