Canadian Society for Independent Radio Production Dominique Soutif was a radio producer with Radio-Canada in Vancouver, Edmonton, Montreal and Ottawa for more than 20 years.
In addition to producing a variety of programs, he has also produced hundreds of recording sessions, specializing in jazz and world music,
but covering virtually every genre. One of the 18 CDs he produced won a Juno award for best jazz album. Dominique now operates two companies, Continental Productions and First Stage.
Continental Productions produces world and jazz music for independent labels.
First Stage is a talent and casting agency which specializes in providing professional actors in
both official languages for narration and voice work as well as for video and film productions.
Dominique has also programmed several world music channels for theiceberg.com,
taught a course on audio production and radio at St-Paul's University in Ottawa, and has worked as a music program officer
for the Canada Council. Born in France, raised and educated in Ottawa
but having spent most of his working life in western Canada, Dominique brings a distinctive bilingual
perspective to radio production which extends beyond the borders of this country, both through his
interest in world music broadcasting and through his involvement in Internet broadcasting.
Susan is passionate about stories, and about using radio to bring more
perspectives to light. Susan works with Heather Ritchie to produce and
co-host the Friday Special Blend, a weekly program airing on CKCU-FM in Ottawa which
focuses on creators and their motivations. Undergraduate studies in
languages extended Susan's fascination with new and different forms of
expression, and someday she may remember enough grammar to say what she
really means in Spanish. She got her start in radio while a distracted
grad student at Carleton, honing her skills collaborating on a bi-weekly
social justice program, A Luta Continua. Following a belief that everyone
can be both a producer and consumer of media, Susan seeks to help others
make the most of various forms of communication. When not at work, Susan
is out exploring the world by canoe, or backpacking in distant places.
Someday, Susan too will write a novel. | ||||||||||||||
